This large traditional French villa is a haven of peace, tucked away in South Finistere (Brittany). The mature grounds with their lawns and large pine trees sit right on the edge of the estuary of the Odet river, right next to the Sainte Marine port and marina. It's a lovely spot to unwind.

Out in the garden there are sunbeds which can be placed in sun or shade and a lovely waterside terrace that is ideal for breakfast in the morning or drinks in the evening. Guests can just settle down to watch the water-borne world go by.

Seafood rules in the hotel's Trois Rochers Restaurant, which is hardly surprising on this productive stretch of coast. Chef Frederic Claquin has earned his restaurant a Michelin star, while the large bay windows and view of the sea have also earned the plaudits of his diners. Just next door is the Bistrot du Bac where a simpler cuisine is served, which has also been recognised by the Michelin inspectors. The position is equally charming, set right on the edge of the port.

Villa Tri Men has 16 guest rooms, all beautifully decorated with fine materials in a sleek, modern style. Each room is bathed in daylight and overlooks either the sea through the pine trees or the hotel garden. All the rooms include a television and free Wi-Fi connection. There is a special room for disabled guests. Double beds can be changed to twin beds on request and the larger rooms will take an extra bed for a child.

Combrit is perfectly placed on the south coast of Brittany to enjoy all sorts of coastal trips. Watch the working fishing port at Concarneau, take a boat trip out to the Les Glenan islands or walk the coastal path. Inland, Quimper is famous for the beautifully preserved timber-framed houses and the Saint-Corentin cathedral.
