Muckrach Country House
, Dulnain Bridge, Grantown-on-Spey.
Muckrach Country House is a beautiful and luxurious Scottish Highland hotel. Lovingly brought back to life, what was once a Victorian shooting lodge has now been restored to better than its former glory to become a vibrant and very special hotel in the Highlands that includes its very own coffee shop and restaurant.
With ten acres of grounds all around, the terrace has large parasols, wooden tables and cushioned chairs all overlooking the pastureland and the pond. When the weather is fine you can be served with breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner outdoors to embrace alfresco dining. Or perhaps just enjoy a cocktail or a glass of bubbly with something from the grazing menu while you watch the sun set and the stars come out.
The bar has over 70 whiskies and 30 gins to choose from as well as wine, local beers, cocktails and other spirits. (Pace yourself!) The grazing menu provides little nibbles like calamari, haggis bonbons and olives with feta all day.
Breakfast lunch, afternoon tea and dinner are all available from the dining room where you will find meals put together with the best ingredients from local suppliers.
The guest rooms and suites are characterised by big beds with comfy mattresses, premium pillows and white cotton bedding, great views and chandeliers. There are two dog-friendly rooms with access to the garden.
There's lots to do around Muckrach, from easy sight-seeing to challenging outdoor pursuits, via fishing, walking, cycling, golf and winter sports too.
