Swinfen Hall Hotel
, Swinfen, Lichfield, Staffordshire.
Swinfen Hall Hotel is a magnificent Georgian manor set in 100 acres of park land incorporating formal gardens, a private deer park, meadows and woodland. Although a haven of peace and calm, Swinfen is just outside Lichfield, 30 minutes from Birmingham city centre and easily accessible via the M6, A38 and the ancient Watling Street.
The sumptuous interior is immaculately decorated and includes a cocktail lounge with a carved wooden bar, a grand staircase leading up from a grand hall and most importantly, the Four Season Restaurant. In 2015 the restaurant was privileged to be awarded a third AA Rosette, a rare accolade indeed. With a 100 acre larder at his disposal, the Chef has abundant organic fruit, vegetables and herbs from the Victorian walled garden, and lamb and venison are both reared on the estate. In summer, the restaurant doors can be opened onto the terrace overlooking the ornamental pond.
For a more casual lunch, afternoon tea or supper, the Bar and Terrace menu offers a selection ranging from sandwiches to steak. These meals are served in the bar, the Green Room or on the terrace.
The seven rooms on the first floor exude a quiet elegance and retain many beautiful period features. They range from the massive 65m2 bridal suite with it's canopied bed to slightly more modest rooms of around 30m2. The bedrooms on the second floor are furnished in a more contemporary style whilst still retaining period features. Rooms are designed with luxurious modern fabrics from Nina Campbell and Romo and there are luxury toiletries from Gilchrist & Soames found in the marble and granite bathrooms.
