This former fishing lodge on the shore of Lough Inagh is still a magnet for fishermen, but it also has an outstanding attraction for anyone who appreciates the raw beauty of the Connemara mountains. Lough Inagh Lodge Hotel sits in isolated splendour in it's own beautiful gardens, with the lake and the mountains as it's backdrop.

The interior is everything you would expect of a 4-star country house hotel. There are comfortable sitting rooms, an oak-panelled bar and a restaurant that unsurprisingly specialised in local wild game, fish and seafood. The restaurant offers dining at it's best, but guests can also enjoy superb food in an informal atmosphere in the bar. It's the best of both worlds! Morning coffee and afternoon tea are available in the sitting room, and there is usually an open fire burning in the library and the bar.

The guest rooms all have brilliant views over Lough Inagh and the Twelve Bens mountains and are elegantly decorated in a traditional country house style. Eash room is named after and Irish writer or poet. They each have television, an en-suite bathroom, a safety deposit box and a private seating area. Wi-fi is available in some parts of the hotel.

The locality is a paradise for fishermen and walkers. The hotel can arrange fishing on Lough Inagh and Derryclare and walkers can be provided with an experienced local guide. There are four golf courses within an hour of the hotel. Although a few steps or a short drive in any direction will bring visitors to wonderful scenery and sights, guests may particularly want to seek out Kylemore Abbey and Croagh Patrick mountain, or perhaps drive out along the narrow, bumpy road across the bog to see the place where Alcock and Brown landed after the first ever transatlantic flight.
